ABOUT SMMC

St. Mary's Mangalorean Community, fondly called as SMMC,  is a  novel organization initiated in 2013, under the guidance of earlier Parish Priest of St. Mary's Parish Priest. Rev. Fr. Tomasito Veneracion and Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. Fransquinho Gomes to cater the spiritual requirements of vast Mangalorean Konkan Community of St. Mary's Parish, Dubai. 

Even since the arrival of Fr. Robert Lasrado in 2014 to Dubai and his appointment as the new Spiritual Director of SMMC  by then new Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Lennie Connolly, this Parish organization  SMMC has climbed the pinnacle of success by enthusiastically gearing up and planning up new endeavors to enhance the spiritual and social requirements of  Mangalorean community of St. Mary's Church Dubai.

As for the Spiritual activities,  start up of Monti fest 9 days Novena with flower strewing by children has become a brilliant spiritual occasion, admired by many parishioners. Systematic arrangement of two konkani masses on 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month has made many Mangalorean parishioners adhered to the church than before.   

Apart from enriching Konkani spiritual programs, successful demonstration of annual social events like Sports day,  Konkani Drama, regular competitions & cultural events during Christmas and Montifest etc are very much evident that SMMC is very competent in orgainizing events successfully to bring proximity among the Mangalorean konkani flock of St. Mary's Dubai Parish.

It's certainly a feather in your cap to officially establish an orderly konkani volunteers organization 'SMKV' (St. Mary's Konkani Volunteers) on  25th Jan 2018.  Its indeed a pleasure to view our efficient 60+ volunteers tirelessly cater to every Konkani event and carry out any task with total dedication and zeal.

Another great accomplishment of SMMC is, in 2017, during Montifest, a fund named 'SMMC Mercy Fund' initiated to assist educational and temporal needs of Dubai Mangalorean parishioners.

In future too, SMMC is intending to continue with the ongoing events and also planning to organize many more innovative projects  to elevate spiritual fortitude and render social benefits to the Mangalorean Community of St. Mary's Dubai Parish.
